      <image:title>about</image:title>
<image:caption>Jake Miles is a producer/engineer/multi-instrumentalist/songwriter based in Los Angeles. Immersed for a decade in the Austin, TX indie music scene, he led experimental pop group SMiiLE and performed alongside acts like Twin Peaks, Of Montreal, and Pyramids. While recording with producers such as Daniel McNeill (Mac Demarco, White Reaper, JD and Domi) and Jarod Evans (Flaming Lips, Sufjan Stevens, Broncho), Miles discovered an aptitude for music production that led him to build and launch FeelFlow Studio in 2019. Miles notably built the walls and sound treatment by hand, crowdfunded broken analog gear such as the Studer A80, and repaired/assembled a hybrid workflow that fostered the highly supportive Austin music community. Over the next 2 years, Miles honed recording techniques and worked tirelessly to finish 23 albums before relocating to Los Angeles, where he continues to expand in the LA music scene. Jake is interested, first and foremost, in artists that are excited about their music and want to make interesting, infectious and memorable things.</image:caption>

I felt his dedication to actualizing my hopes and dreams for the record while being appropriately challenged and sharpened along the way. <image:caption>Jake’s unconventional production approach and pop sensibility helped me to realize each song’s full potential on Youthful Exuberance. We threw everything at the wall just to see what would stick. It was the most fun and daring experience I’ve had in a studio, and I think that sentiment really shines through the whole EP. -Dylan Pacheco</image:caption>

<image:caption>Jake is an extremely skilled and reliable engineer and producer. He managed to strike a balance between having an adventurous and open mind in supporting your vision, while also not being afraid to respectfully share new ideas that will help your music become the best that it can be. He is full of ideas, and he knows how to make them happen. Creating my record with him was an absolute joy and I can honestly say that Jake earned my trust through that process. I hope to work with him again. -Ry Black (Sunroom)</image:caption>

<image:caption>I was fortunate enough to record drums and percussion with Jake for two separate LP’s in 2020, and I loved every minute. Jake is that rare producer who possesses real balance. He was the first and remains one of the only producers I’ve worked with who can get up close and personal with the trees without losing sight of the forest. He has gained enough familiarity with his tools that he’s able to experiment quickly and freely with a wide variety of sounds and textures, but he has the clarity of mind to stop before a promising diversion becomes a rabbit hole. He’s got the ears and the multi-instrumentalist chops to engage in a detailed way with the tracking processes of every instrument in the band, but (thank GOD!) he’s not a musical technocrat. I’ve never been more excited or invested in a drum tracking session than I was with Jake at Feel Flow, and the range of sounds that we produced during those two sessions is a testament to the positivity that he brings to his projects. If he’s identified the desired sound, no solution is too unorthodox and no tradition is too sacred to</image:caption>

<image:caption>“On top of being an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist and engineer, Jake has an incredible ability to cultivate spaces that encourage limitless creativity. Every time I entered a session with Jake, I immediately felt a safety and warmth that allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and go for ideas that I normally wouldn’t have. I think fluidity is a vital part of the creative process and Jake embodies that as a producer and engineer. He is a joy to work with and I recommend him to any artists wanting to take their music to the next level.” -Lainey Gonzales</image:caption>
